Australian Standards set explicit requirements for the procedures, materials and practices to be used in a particular field. You will need to comply with relevant Australian Standards in both your course, and your work.

National Construction Code/Building Code of Australia

Previously known as the BCA, the National Construction Code sets out requirements for building works in Australia. Sections of particular interest to the HVAC industry are:

Volume 1 Part G2 Heating appliances, fireplaces, chimneys and flues

Volume 1 Part J5: Air-conditioning and ventilation systems
