Youth Services: Youth

A guide to library and information resources on Youth Services.

Youth Services

Young people in Australia are classified as being between the age of 12-25 and it is important to provide young people with connectedness to the community and provide support and advocacy services.

Each local government council will also generally have a hangout space for young people that is staffed by Youth Workers. If you Google your local council website, they should have a section on young people that will provide a list of all the relevant services and programs in the area.

For instance, in the Whitehorse council area, there is a drop in centre called Youth ConneXions. It is located in Box Hill Shopping Centre and provides support services to young people such as study support, programs, referral, and counselling and support services as needed.
