What is feedback and how do you use it?

We give and receive feedback everyday whether we realise it or not.

In the workplace as employees or managers feedback is a regular part of our working life.

In the TAFE environment students are given feedback by their teachers on the work they do - it can be informal or formal, written or oral. Students can increase their learning by reflecting and acting on the feedback given by their teachers or fellow students

Using Rubrics

Some teachers use rubrics in their assessment - these set out the expected performance for various aspects of the assessment task, and make for clear and consistent assessment. Students can use rubrics to evaluate their own results and improve performance.

Box Hill Institute acknowledges that all of our learning sites are situated on the ancestral lands of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nations and pay respects to the traditional custodians and their elders past, present and emerging.
