Disability Work

A disability worker is someone who supports, empowers and advocates for those with a disability and supports them towards learning steps to become as independent as possible.

Disability support workers assist those with disabilities and provide them with care and assistance, they tend to focus on assisting with household tasks and social outings whilst providing companionship to help build clients confidence and skills.

Disability support workers can work in a variety of settings and may make visits to clients at home, care homes or in hospitals and their main responsibility is to advocate for their client and alleviate any discomfort and help to strengthen their clients bonds to family groups and the community.
