In some cases you may want to refer to an illustration, figure or chart. Treat these just as you would use written text.
For example, for an image from a printed book, set the reference out as shown in the example for printed books; for an image in an online journal, use the standard layout for an online journal and so on.
In-Text Citations
Cite the figure/table/equation within the brackets, after the citation number, with a comma separating them, e.g.:
[5, Fig. 2] or [8, Tab. 3] or [12, eq. 7]
